The well-known columnist Robert Novak has reportedly been hospitalized as doctors found out that he has brain tumor. He will stop writing and appearing on TV for a “an indefinite but, God willing, not too lengthy period.”
“On Sunday, July 27, I was diagnosed with a brain tumor,” said Mr. Novak in a statement on Monday. He added that he has been admitted to Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston where he will receive treatment.
The conservative American political commentator – complete name Robert David Sanders "Bob" Novak - has been visiting his daughter on Cape Cod when he was rushed to the hospital according to The Associated Press. Novak flew with his wife Geraldine on Saturday to visit his daughter. He was taken by ambulance to the hospital, and admitted to the intensive care ward.
Novak was diagnosed with brain tumor just a week after he was cited in Washington, D.C., for striking a man while driving his convertible. The man did not suffer serious injuries.
Over his 45-year career, the syndicated columnist and journalist has been writing the longest-running current U.S. syndicated political column - Inside Report since 1963. He is also a television personality. He appeared on several shows for CNN, most notably on three former programs, The Capital Gang, Crossfire, and Evans, Novak, Hunt, and Shields.
