RealNetworks, a Seattle-based provider of Internet media
delivery software and services, has recently announced that „Collapse! Chaos”
would become available on two of Apple’s gadgets, the iPhone and the iPod
Touch.
The game, which is said to have been downloaded over 156
million times so far, was developed by RealNetworks' GameHouse Studios and was
originally designed for Apple Incorporated’s Mac and Microsoft’s Personal
Computer.
RealNetworks has informed that „Collapse! Chaos” would be
priced at $9.99, users being able to purchase it directly from Apple's App
Store, which is an application for the iPhone and the iPod Touch alike,
allowing customers to purchase various apps that are downloaded to their
devices afterwards.
In addition, RealNetworks Incorporated has revealed that the
first 10,000 users to buy the game were to pay only $4.99 for it.
„Collapse! Chaos” will be thus joining another one of the
above-mentioned’s company games that is available on the iPhone, „South Park Imaginationland,”
which costs $2.99 at Apple’s App Store.
This year, Comedy Central's „Imaginationland” TV series won an Emmy for Outstanding
Animated Program for One Hour or More.
RealNetworks is best known for their compressed audio format
RealAudio, which has been heavily used in the past by radios in order to stream
their programming over the Web in real time.
In 2001, the company launched RealArcade, a program that
enables users to download games' demos and also to purchase the full versions.
Apple introduced the iPhone in the United States on June 29,
2007 and soon after, on September 5, the company released their portable media
player and Wi-Fi mobile platform called the iPod Touch.
