The first performers that have been announced for the 51^st annual Grammy Awards are nominees Jonas Brothers, Coldplay and Katy Perry.

The aforementioned will be joining country star Kenny Chesney, who received a nod for Best Country Collaboration With Vocals for “Shiftwork,” and Lil Wayne, the rap star who has topped the nominees’ list with eight nods, including Album Of The Year and Best Rap Album for “Tha Carter III.”

Katy Perry has been previously scheduled to perform as part of this year’s “My Grammy Moment” segment of the show, fans having until February 6 to upload a 30 to 60-second video of themselves singing along to a portion of Katy’s “I Kissed A Girl” on www.cbs.com/grammys. Afterwards, the clips will be voted by the large public and the most popular ones will be included in Katy’s performance.

The rest of the performers who will take the stage at Staples Center in Los Angeles on February 8 are expected to be announced soon.

The Jonas Brothers, comprising Kevin, Joe and Nick, starred in the Disney Channel Original Movie „Camp Rock” in the summer of 2008 and they have released three albums so far: „It’s About Time” in 2006, „Jonas Brothers” one year later and „A Little Bit Longer” last year.

British alternative rock band Coldplay, which formed in England back in 1998, is best known for their hit singles „Yellow,” „The Scientist,” „Clock,” „Speed of Sound” and „Viva la Vida.”

Katy Perry rose to fame only last year, when she released her „I Kissed a Girl” single that has become a worldwide hit.
