Shopping online is a concept that expands so rapidly all around the world; it’s safe and cheap, why not also entertaining? Have you ever felt the urge to go and buy a specific album after viewing one of the band’s videos on YouTube?
If not, then you will! If you already have experienced this, you should be happy to know that YouTube has embedded a click-and-buy option on its “authorized content” pages. YouTube will allow users to buy content, like music, games and other downloadable merchandise, through Amazon, iTunes and other online shops.
Google began giving access to this new option on Wednesday to users from the U.S and announced that it will be available worldwide in a few months. The great thing behind this new move issued by Google is that through YouTube, the content is going to a carefully targeted public. The downloadable merchandise will be advertised as the user makes the decision to buy it. The fact that the videos will have an embedded code linking users directly to a place where they can buy the respective product is very smart indeed and it will also prove to be very successful.
This deal between Google’s YouTube and online shops, like iTunes, Amazon is considered by all parties as an exciting thing and a new way through which content can reach possible buyers.
According to YouTube’s blog this is just the first step in building a reliable and safe platform for online shopping and, as we all know, Google has the power, creativity and necessary funds for turning this into the Internet’s next best thing.
