Christie Brinkley fights back. The super model has reportedly asked for a restraining order against her ex-husband Peter Cook, TMZ reported. The move is reportedly linked to Cook’s recent "20/20" interview in which he blamed Brinkley for their failed marriage.
According to some sources close to the super model, her lawyer tried to get the TRO for this weekend due to the fact that it’s Mr. Cook’s turn to see the two children that resulted from their ten-year marriage. The TRO, filed in New York's Suffolk County Court yesterday for this weekend, wasn’t passed by the court. A hearing was scheduled for the end of the month.
In the interview with Barbara Walters, Peter Cook said that he cheated on Brinkley because she wasn’t affectionate enough to keep him around. Cook had an extramarital relationship with then-teenager Diana Bianchi. He told Barbara Walters that, by the time he was involved with the 18-year-old, he and his wife were more like brother and sister.
Cook said his affair was a desperate effort to seek "a connection I could not find in my own marriage.”
"I wanted a little acknowledgment, a little attention, a little 'thank you' every now and then for my efforts, for the amount of time I took to care for her and my family, for the wealth I was building," Cook told Walters.
Cook’s attorney, James Winkler, labeled Christine Brinkley’s request to the court as “a silly application."
"Obviously, there are TVs all over the place, and Mr. Cook had no intention of exposing his children to any interview," Winkler told E! News.
