Months after a breast-cancer diagnosis and treatment, actress Christina Applegate savored the Emmy festivity more than ever. The beautiful blond admitted that she felt great on the red carpet. The simple things such as wearing a beautiful dress and lipstick made her day.
"It's a great day … I've got a pretty dress on and lipstick, and [it's] something I haven't done in two months," Applegate told People Magazine.
In an interview with E! host Ryan Seacrest, the Emmy-award winning actress best-known for playing Kelly Bundy said that she was very happy to be present on the red carpet again and it did not matter that much if she would have won an Emmy or not.
"It really feels good to be here ... That's what life's all about."
The 36-yer-old American actress also spoke about what she went through lately – cancer diagnosis, treatment and a double mastectomy.
“Things happen, and you have to sit back and really, really embrace your life."
Although she said she is very grateful for being present at the awards and wining and award wasn’t that important, Applegate did mention who she’d like to thank.
"I have so many people to thank," she said, "First of all, I would thank everybody for the overwhelming love and support that I've gotten through all of this. It brings tears to my eyes.
The actress received praise from her “Samantha Who?” co-star who won an Emmy award for best supporting actress in a comedy.
