Finally admitting what has been obvious over the past couple of months, Christina Aguilera revealed that she and her husband, music executive Jordan Bratman, are expecting their first baby due early next year, BBC reported.
In an interview for the new issue of Glamour magazine, the singer finally shared her joy of having a baby with the rest of the world. When she was asked about her plans for the upcoming year, Aguilera said she will "enter into mommyhood."
"I'm hoping to have started a beautiful family with my husband!"
She explained that she plans to be a working mother, so she could "balance" the needs of her child with her career.
"I want to get it right," the 26-year-old added.
As far as her husband is concerned, Aguilera, who has sold more than 30 million albums worldwide, said he was "ecstatic" about the idea of becoming a father.
"He's thrilled! He's just great", the singer said.
"He's so supportive and amazing through everything. He came with me on the last leg of the tour and he was my support system... I gush. I'm a lucky girl."
Since Paris Hilton spilled the beans for her almost two months ago when her baby bump was barely showing, Christina Aguilera has been spotted on several occasions wearing loose clothes before letting her belly show.
The couple who have been married for two years, have been seen shopping for baby things in Los Angeles in recent weeks, but no official announcement was made by any of the two until now.
