On
Wednesday, model-actress Christie Brinkley filed a request for a restraining
order against her ex-husband Peter Cook in New
York's Suffolk County Court, in order to prevent the
latter from visiting the couple’s two children this week-end. The reason: Cook’s interview with Barbara Walters, scheduled to air tomorrow, during which he has revealed
inside details about his marriage with the supermodel. Brinkley reasoned that
she did not want her children, Sailor and Jack, to be exposed to the televised
sit-down and to what their father had to say about the couple’s life.
The supermodel’s motion has been denied by the County Court.
Nevertheless, the latter has ordered that Peter Cook was not to expose the
children to the „20/20”
broadcast, Christie Brinkley’s attorney Robert Stephan Cohen has informed.
Consequently, Cook will be taking the kids out of town for
the week-end the three of them are scheduled to spend together.
By accepting to go on Barbara Walters’ broadcast, Peter Cook has violated the terms of the couple’s divorce settlement, which clearly stated
that neither of the two was to publicly reveal information on their marriage.
Cook, 49, confessed to Walters that he had had an affair
with an 18-year-old assistant and somewhat of a pornography habit, as well, but
added that he was not the pervert he had been made out to be.
The couple’s final divorce decree was signed only last week,
although Brinkley and Cook reached a settlement back in July and thus decided to put
an end to the trial.
