Chief Justice John Roberts Hospitalized For Seizure

John Roberts, the Chief Justice of the top US court, was hospitalized Monday at Penobscot Bay Medical Center, after he has suffered a seizure at his summer home in Maine.

The doctors described the incident as a “a benign idiopathic seizure” and he underwent a “thorough neurological evaluation, which revealed “no cause for concern” Supreme Court spokeswoman Kathy Arberg said in a statement.

Arberg added that Roberts had "fully recovered", but he suffered “minor scraps” because of the fall during seizure. He will remain overnight at the medical center as a precaution.

According to media reports, Roberts, who is 52-years old, had a similar episode 14 years ago. After this episode, Roberts reportedly has decided to limit temporarily certain of his activities such as driving.

The conservative justice was nominated by President George W Bush to lead the nine-member court in 2005. He succeeded William Rehnquist and is the US 17th Chief Justice.
