Monday morning, two men were shot in a drive-by on Chicago’s Northwest Side. According to the Chicago Tribune, police said that a man was killed and the other one was critically wounded in a shooting. The two men were in 2000 Lincoln sedan that crashed near Wrightwood and Kostner Avenues. The car left the road and ended up in a backyard.

Police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer said that the victims had gunshot wounds to their chests. Apparently the shots were fired form another vehicle that left the location. Police said that the vehicle was as dark-colored minivan. The man who survived was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in critical condition, informed Amina Greer.

According to Officer Daniel O’Brien of the Police News Affairs, the shooting happened around 5:30 Monday morning.

Another shooting scene took place near the same area last month when police shot an 18-year-old man on probation for a weapons conviction. The man was killed. Police said that he had threatened an officer with a large-caliber handgun. The Independent Police Review Authority is investigating the shooting.

Larry Ligas, chairman of Logan Square Concerned Citizens, said that police made many gang members leave Logan Square and move to the east. Now, they search new bases for their operations.
