Cher’s Back to Las Vegas’ Caesars Palace

The Oscar, Emmy and Grammy award winner legend, Cher announced Thursday that she would be headlining a song-and-dance spectacular at the Colosseum at Las Vegas’ Caesars Palace, beginning the May 6.

“I started in Las Vegas at Caesars, so I’ve come full circle. I’m back and I plan to give my fans the best experience yet. I think everybody knows I Only do things in a big way,” said the 61-year-old performer in a statement, according to E! Online.

Starting with May 6, Cher will be performing four 90-minute shows a week for a month, and then will return in mid-August for concerts through October.

“Cher at The Colosseum,” as the project was named, will include hit songs from Cher’s career of more than 40 years with choreography, costumes and special effects.

“Cher's name in one word encapsulates icon, award-winning legend, and captivating performer. Caesars is pleased to welcome Cher back,” said Caesars Palace President Gary Selesner quoted by the Associated Press.

“The fan anticipation leading up to this announcement has been unprecedented. Cher's talent is legendary around the globe, and there is simply no one like her,” said John Meglen, co-CEO and president of AEG Live/Concerts West, who promotes Cher.
Tickets have already been put on sale with prices before taxes and fees ranging from $95 to $250.

Cher joins a list of high headliners at Caesars Palace, including Elton John, Jerry Seinfeld, Bette Miler. Celine Dion's five-year residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace, which ended Dec. 15, grossed $385 million and drew nearly 3 million people to 717 shows.

Other than that, Cher's three-year Living Proof Farewell Tour, which concluded in 2005, played 273 shows in North America, grossing $192.5 million, according to Billboard Boxscore.
