Actor Charlie Sheen's two young daughters with ex-wife Denise Richards emerged safely from a car accident on Friday.
According to sources close to the "Two and a Half Men" star, 4-year-old Sam and 3-year-old Lola Rose were unharmed after being involved in a car crash, which sent one person to the hospital.
"Charlie told me that the girls are fine," Sheen's publicist Stan Rosenfield said in a statement.
The girls were reportedly in an SUV driven by their nanny on the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu when a Honda cut them off causing the accident, law enforcement sources said. Four cars were involved in the accident, which was first reported by TMZ.com.
"He said it could have been much worse. They were in their car seats, and he is extremely grateful for the safety features from Mercedes," Sheen's publicist added.
The Honda's driver suffered several injuries and was rushed to a local hospital for treatment. The police is currently investigating the crash but no arrests were made yet.
However, the driver is expected to be cited for failing to yield.
"The only person injured was the driver of the Honda. There was no crime committed," a police spokesperson said.
Charlie Sheen and Denise Richards' infamous divorce and bitter custody battle began in 2006 after three years of marriage. The two finally reached a custody agreement earlier this year, but the specifics were never discussed publicly by any of the parties.
Now remarried with Brooke Mueller since this summer, Sheen is expecting two additions to his brood in the spring, twin boys.
