A closed hearing that took place Tuesday between divorced actors Charlie Sheen and Denise Richards has reportedly concluded with Richards receiving permission to go on with plans for a reality TV show.

The fairytale romance gone sour keeps getting less and less palatable as former husband and wife Charlie Sheen and Denise Richards continued their custody battle with a closed hearing Tuesday.

According to E! Online, Sheen arrived at the Los Angeles courthouse with his attorney, while Richards' legal camp participated by phone. The public had no access to the courtroom and reps for the two sides refused to comment.

TMZ has the inside scoop though and reports that the court hearing was focused on a conflict between the former spouses regarding Richards’ wish to appear on a reality show along with the couple’s two daughters.

Sheen was reportedly opposed to having 3-year-old Sam and 2-year-old Lola appear on TV with their mother. According to TMZ, a court commissioner gave the actress approval, but there are unspecified ground rules. Richards is nevertheless “very happy” with the decision, a source told the site.

Richards, 36 and Sheen, 42, met on the set of “Good Advice” in 2001, fell in love and married in 2002. They welcomed their first child, daughter Sam, in 2004, and their second daughter Lola, in 2005. Within a year of the birth of their second child, Richards was filing for divorce.

They were officially divorced in late November 2006 and have been embroiled in a nasty and tabloid-fuelling custody battle ever since, with each accusing the other of bad parenting.

Last September, Richards asked the court to not allow Sheen to keep the children overnight, making the controversial statement that the actor indulges in online pornography. Sheen’s response was that the claims were “laughable and inane.”

The actor says his former wife is interfering with his relationship with his daughters.
