The Boston Celtics hammered the Toronto Raptors 112-84 at TD Banknorth Garden to keep their home record clean. The only other team which is still undefeated in their home court is the San Antonio Spurs.
Kevin Garnett was once again the dominant figure on the court and scored 23 points as he went 9 of 13 from the floor. Paul Pierce helped with his 18 points and six assists and Ray Allen and Eddie House each added 13 points for Boston, who now are 10-0 at home. If they win the next two they will match the 1984-85 team for best start to a season in franchise history. This is the sixth time in franchise history Boston has started at least 10-0 at home
James Posey also had a good game and finished with 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Celtics, who increased their Eastern Conference-best record to 16-2 after winning five straight overall.
"The focus here is to be consistent and to build towards [the postseason]," said Garnett. "Every day that we come in here and suit up and practice, it's to build towards just that. We want to be very solid and consistent when it comes playoff time. We want to know who we are and we want to have that identity."
On the other side, the guy who led the Raptors in scoring was Anthony Parker with just 13 points. T.J. Ford, Joey Graham and Juan Dixon each had 12 points for Toronto, which has lost the last three games.
"They just beat us. I don't know what you want me to say. They just beat us. Good basketball team. They're probably the best team in the league right now. They just drilled us,” Toronto head coach Sam Mitchell said.
Toronto could use for this game as well two of its best players. All-Star forward Chris Bosh sat out his fifth straight game with a strained groin, while forward Andrea Bargnani missed his third contest because of a hyperextended left knee.
