Celtics Lose to Magic to End the Wining Streak

The Orlando Magic managed to deliver the first defeat of the season for the Boston Celtics. With Dwight Howard and Rashard Lewis in a great form, the Magic won 104-102 over the Celtics on Sunday night.

"It feels great to get the win," said Magic forward Hedo Turkoglu. "We did our thing. We played hard; we stuck together until the last second and finished it."

The Orlando Magic were led in scoring by Dwight Howard, who finished with 24 points. Rashard Lewis closely followed with 22 points; Jameer Nelson added 18 points and Hedo Turkoglu chipped in with 16 points for the Magic who won for the fourth straight time and improved their record to 9-2 under new head coach Stan Van Gundy.

With an 8-0 record, the Celtics were off to the fourth-best start in franchise history and they were very close to winning their ninth game in a row, but Paul Pierce missed a potential game-winning three-pointer on the final play of the game.

"I thought I had a good look at a three. I saw about one or two seconds left, and I could have drove and tied the game up, but I went with my instincts. It didn't go our way today," said Pierce who finished the game with 28 points.

All-star guard Ray Allen scored 19 points, Rajon Rondo had 18 on 8-of-9 shooting and Kevin Garnett helped with 14 points and 11 rebounds, but he fouled out late in the fourth quarter.

“We're not perfect and we didn't think we were going to go 82-0," "The Big Ticket" said.
