Thousands of people lined up for the public memorial service for Caylee Anthony, the 2-year-old toddler from Florida who was slain by her own mother, now imprisoned and charged with murder.
The funeral service will take place in Orlando on Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Churchin the presence of many mourners. The event will also be broadcast live on local television, as it is open to the public.
People have already gathered outside the church a lot sooner before the funeral was expected to begin.
Casey Anthony, the little girl’s mother, is now in the Orange County Jail and according to a jail spokeswoman, she expressed no desire of watching her daughter’s funeral on television. Furthermore, she said in a prepared statement read by her attorney that she did not approve of the service her parents, George and Cindy Anthony, had planned for Caylee, explaining that she did not want the public and cameras around for her daughter’s funeral.
Caylee Anthony disappeared in June and she was reported missing more than a month later. Her mother said that she last saw her daughter when she left her with a baby sitter, which turned out to be a lie, since police said there was no baby sitter at all. The toddler’s remains were found in the woods near her home in December. Investigations of the monstrous murder indicated towards Caylee’s mother who is now behind bars on first-degree murder and other charges.
