If you have the Tuesday night all free and you are not in
the mood of getting more sleep, watching the ceiling or cleaning the bathroom
floor, you might as well watch the premiere of one of the two comedy series on
ABC, “Carpoolers”.
You will find some funny moments, although the impression of
incoherence won’t leave you until the end of the thirty minutes, as the
episodes include the experiences of four men commuting together everyday,
sharing their frustrations and the expenses. The sitcom comes from Bruce
McCulloch, who brought us Kids in the Hall.
Gracen (Fred Goss) – you’ve seen him in “Sons &
Daughters”- , Laird (Jerry O'Connell), Aubrey (Jerry Minor) and Dougie (Tim
Peper) are the characters that will spend the time from their homes to work
singing and talking and being men, of course. Gracen feels inferior as his wife
earns more than him, dentist Laird is living an empty divorcee life, Aubrey has
to deal alone with his kids while his wife is busy with the TV, plus Dougie who
is so happily in love that makes the atmosphere so sweet your teeth hurt.
The plot may sound attractive, but it becomes mundane
reeling off the same almost-clichéd scenes; however, if you are as bored as I referred
in the beginning, it might bring some smile on your face.
