Carol Alt Happily Loses Lawsuit against Ex-Husband

'80s Sports Illustrated swimsuit-issue hottie Carol Alt lost in a New York court against her husband. The judge ruled that her husband, former NHL star Ron Greschner, doesn’t owe her any money. The model was seeking a cut of the profits from a business venture she had with her ex-hubbie.

The 47-year-old model had sued Greschner, a former captain of the New York Rangers, for $1 million. U.S. District Judge Colleen McMahon said that Alt was entitled to approximately $160,000 of the profits, but since she filed suit about two years after the statute of limitations had expired, she won’t see any benjamins.

"Had Ms. Alt brought her lawsuit on time, she would have been entitled to that amount," said the judge.

Alt, who will appear in the November issue of Playboy, was also ordered to pay her ex-husband’s legal fees. The two split in 2001 after a marriage that lasted 18 years.

Under the separation agreement of the two reached in 1997, Alt was entitled to a cut of the profits made from selling shares in a water filtration business, but Greschner sold the shares two years later arguing that his ex spouse has no right to part of the money.

However, the model’s declarations after the lawsuit was ended were somewhat strange. Alt spoke to reporters as she would have won the lawsuit. "I feel vindicated and free. These are tears of joy," Alt, who finished third on The Celebrity Apprentice earlier this year, told reporters. "It's really finally over. It's like an ending, a solid ending."

Greschner did not speak to reporters after the lawsuit.
