The greatest thing surrounding sci-fi productions is that they can’t run out of timelines, as the future as dark and infinite as the Universe. Among the greatest sci-fi TV series it is easy to mention shows such as Star Trek, which really left its mark on humanity, the Stargate series and, of course, Battlestar Galactica.
Filming for the last season of Battlestar Galactica has begun and the people from the Sci Fi Channel have another surprise in store for their regular viewers. According to the latest information a new show, called Caprica, is also in the making and will focus on the story which precedes the events from Battlestar Galactica.
Caprice will take place 50 years earlier than the events from Battlestar Galactica and will present the story of two competing families, the Adamas and the Greystones, leading to the events of the Battlestar Galactica series. The cast will include Eric Stoltz and Esai Morales and will be produced by Ronald D. Moore, the man responsible for reviving the Battlestar Galactica series. The show is expected to make its debut in 2010, until then sci-fi enthusiasts having to make by with the last season of the popular series.
Battlestar Galactica deals with a grim future in which humans are searching for a lost refuge called Earth, after a war with a cybernetic race, called the Cylons, decimated the number of people living in the Twelve Colonies. Battlestar Galactica is the name of the military ship, carrying refugees, that managed to escape and which has the mission of finding a new place where humans can prosper and live peacefully.
