Britney Spears is just as confused as we are about the past
couple of years that had her behave outrageously, absurdly and chaotically.
“What the hell was I thinking?” she asks herself in a candid documentary that
will air on MTV next month.
“Britney: For the Record” is new material showing the
rejuvenated, recuperated Britney Spears talk about the struggles she has been
through ever since divorcing Kevin Federline and embarking on that whirlwind
journey of hers that was so amply and comprehensively chronicled by tabloids
around the world.
In the interview that will air Nov. 30 on MTV, Britney
Spears confesses that she now looks back on that period and asks herself what
was possibly going on in her mind to behave like that.
“I’ve been through a lot in the past two or three years, and
there’s a lot that people don't know,” she adds, commenting that it was a hard
time for her and that she coped with things discreetly, not revealing to the
media the details of her personal hardships.
She concludes that she chose to make the documentary so she
could finally tell her side of the story and perhaps have people understand
her. She calls it her opportunity “to set the record straight” and to reveal
what she has been through and what she sees for herself in the future.
The very near future will actually see Spears release a new
album, “Circus,” out in store Dec. 2, her 27th birthday.
The first single from her upcoming album, “Womanizer,” released
last month, is produced by The Outsyders. Other producers and writers who have
contributed to the Jive Records album are Dr. Luke (writer-producer of the
title track, “Circus”), Danja, Max Martin, Bloodshy & Avant (who also
worked on “Blackout”) and Guy Sigsworth.
We can look forward to some quality tuff, considering that Sigsworth’s
previous collaborators include Madonna, Alanis Morissette and Bjork.
The divorced mother of two was once pop’s reigning princess,
having sold more than 62 million albums around the world during her career and
garnering eight No. 1 singles as well as four consecutive No. 1 albums.
It looks like Britney Spears is looking to reclaim her
tiara.
