Cameron Diaz mourns her father, who died recetly. He had been suffering from a light flu which turned into pneumonia, an illness that took his life on Tuesday morning, TMZ.com first reported.
Emilio Diaz’s death caused the production of his daughter latest film, „My Sister's Keeper," to halt for the time being. The production of the film on which Cameron Diaz has been working with Alec Baldwin and Abigail Breslin was reportedly halted out of respect for the actress’s father.
It is unlikely that Cameron will make it to London for the scheduled premiere of her latest movie, "What Happens in Vegas."
It is also highly improbable that Cameron will make it to a private party Wednesday night planned by British GQ and Dunhill. The party will be hosted by Elton John, his partner, David Furnish, and Dylan Jones, British GQ's editor. Ms Diaz is on the cover of the new issue of British GQ.
The father of the actress and former model was declared dead in the morning of April 15.
Emilion Diaz, a resident of Seal Beach, Calif., had worked as a foreman for an oil company. He was only 58 years old and was reportedly in excellent health, so his death must have shocked his daughter Cameron.
Cameron Diaz’s father had played a small role in his daughter’s 1998 film "There's Something About Mary."
Emilio, a second generation Cuban-American, is survived by his wife Billie and his two daughters Cameron Diaz, 35, and Chimene, 37.
No plans for Mr Diaz’s funeral have been confirmed.
