Paris Hilton’s home was burglarized. The incident happened in the early hours of Friday morning at the daughter of the hotel magnate’s home in the Sherman Oaks area of Los Angeles.

According to the police report, there was only one burglar. The man was wearing a hooded top and gloves. He broke through the home’s front door and stole jewelry wroth an estimated $2 million. The 27-year-old actress was not at home at the time of the robbery, which may be Los Angeles’ highest-dollar home break-in in 2008.

The 911 call about the burglary was made at about 5 a.m. by a security guard. The guard told police that the burglar was "wearing a hooded sweat shirt and gloved" and that he entered the home in the 3300 block of Clarendon Road and "ransacked her bedroom," according to Los Angeles Police Officer April Harding.

"I expect we'll be able to apprehend the culprit here based on some of the information we have," said Deputy Chief Charlie Beck, head of the department's detective bureau.

After searching the scene of the incident, police investigators said that the burglar does not appear to be a pro. However, he did make it past the gated community’s security system and also past Paris Hilton’s home own security system.

It is highly possible that the burglar is very familiar with the neighborhood and with the house, LAPD investigators told reporters.
