Bruce Springsteen and E Street Get Together For World Tour

In an announcement made Tuesday, Columbia records said Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band are set to kick off their U.S. and Europe tour this fall.

For the first time in four years, Springsteen and the band, made up of guitarists Steve Van Zandt and Nils Lofgren, saxophonist Clarence Clemons, vocalist Patti Scialfa, drummer Max Weinberg, pianist Roy Bittan, bass player Garry Tallent and keyboard player/organist Danny Federici, will be concerting together, starting October 2 in Hartford, the same day the rocker’s album "Magic" hits the stores.

Fans can also get a taste on the album by downloading Springsteen’s first single, "Radio Nowhere," from iTunes for free.

"It's just built for it," Springsteen told Backstreets magazine about his album being designed for the road. "I wrote with a lot of melody, and with a lot of hooks, and there's a lot of band power behind the stuff that I wrote this time out. So I'm excited to hear that come straight off the band."

"Magic" also marks Springsteen’s first album with the E Street Band since 2002’s Grammy-Award winning "The Rising."

Sixteen dates, including Philadelphia, New Jersey, Toronto, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Washington and Boston are to be played before moving to Europe in November where the band will perform 30 gigs before wrapping it all up at the O2 Arena in London, Columbia said.

Tickets for Hartford and Albany go on sale Sept. 8. Tickets for New Jersey and The Garden go on sale Sept. 10. Information on ticket prices and outlets was not available.

In his early career, Springsteen, 57, recorded many of his albums with the E Street Band, but following the release of his 1987 record, "Tunnel of Love," his work with the band became less frequent.

Most recently, Springsteen toured solo and with the large string band he assembled for his 2006 "Seeger Sessions" album.
