Winter will come to the United States too this year. According to the weather forecast, heavy snow will arrive in the upper Great Lakes and the Northeast on Friday. Rain and snow will also be present in the Northwest and Southeast. As forecasters added, the snow in the Great Lakes will reach a half-foot height.
The Ohio Valley won’t miss the snow either, as a wintry mix was announced in the area too. A storm was said to head east and bring rain to the mid-Atlantic. A wintry mix will also whiten the roads in central and southern Pennsylvania as well as the southern New Jersey. Yet, the heavy snow from Pennsylvania, New York and most of New England is predicted to range from 6 inches to a foot.
The Tennessee Valley and some parts of Mississippi, Alabama and northern Georgia were threatened by heavy rains. Also the areas of the central Plains, the upper Midwest and the mid-Mississippi Valley will be covered with snow and drops of rain.
More snow was forecast all along the areas in the Northwest but also in some parts of Nevada and the Four Corners, where the snowfall will probably stop when it would reach a few inches. Yet, northern California is sure to see some rain, as well as a little snow.
And the cold weather isn’t something to be missing from the picture. On Thursday, the temperatures in the Lower 48 states varied from a low of 27 degrees below Celsius at Ely, Minnesota to 120 degrees higher in Oakdale. The winds won’t stay lower than expected and they will head to New England topping 30 mph and keeping the snow moving after it hits the ground.
