Tuesday, the top 10 guys on American Idol performed: David Archuleta, Robbie Carrico, Jason Castro, David Cook, Chikezie, David Hernandez, Michael Johns, Luke Menard, Danny Noriega and Jason Yeager.

The young David Archuleta managed to steal the night with a stunning performance of John Lennon's Imagine, a very, very daring song choice. Few people if any manage to make it sound alright, besides ol' John, even if they are far more experienced than Archuleta. However, he somehow did it.

Last night, the top 10 girls took on the stage of the show: Kristy Lee Cook, Asia’h Epperson, Alexandréa Lushington, Kady Malloy, Ramiele Malubay, Syesha Mercado, Amanda Overmyer, Carly Smithson, Alaina Whitaker and Brooke White.

The latter sang Carly’s classic You’re So Vain along with her guitar. The beauty school dropout managed to connect perfectly with the judges, who apparently all thought she picked a perfect song for her and her voice.

"Brooke, I absolutely loved it," Simon enthused. "It was the absolute perfect song for you. It was one of the rare occasions where I felt the artist had genuinely chosen the song. It absolutely connected." Ryan asked Simon if he thought the song was about him, and Simon said he indeed thought so, especially after Paula remarked that Brooke White kept looking at the judges' panel during her performance.

The other judges, Paula and Ryan, also praised Brooke White for her song choice, who at this moment appears to be the only female threat to David Archuleta for the top prize.

The Vote for the Worst (American Idol contender) campaign has selected this season’s male contestant: Danny Noriega, and also threw their weight behind rocker Amanda Overmyer last night, who are both considered "VFTW inspirations." The Votefortheworst.com site was started in 2004 to support "the entertaining contestants who the producers would hate to see win on American Idol."

Tonight we will find out who the four contestants who will go home are. Of the girls, Kady Malloy and Amanda Overmyer should probably go home, but hopefully Overmyer will be boosted by the VFTW campaign.

Vote for Amanda Overmyer. […] Her rendition of "Carry On My Wayward Son" was one of the worst vocals on Idol. Ever. In 7 seasons. It was amazingly VFTW. And her crazy outfit, fun hair, and everything else really added up to a VFTW victory for the ages beyond anything we could have hoped for. - the VFTW website reads
