They held a “Winnie the Pooh”-inspired baby shower and an “Alice in Wonderland”-themed wedding. Now, they decided to turn to Rudyard Kipling’s “Jungle Book” and name their first child Mowgli. This is what I call imaginative parents!

Ashlee Simpson-Wentz and her spouse, Pete Wentz, welcomed a baby boy on Thursday night and called their little one, who weighed 7 lbs., 11 oz., and was 20 1/2 inches long, Bronx Mowgli Wentz.

In spite of the fact that the couple has not explained yet where the “Bronx” moniker comes from, we might as well suppose that they have chosen this name because “Brooklyn” is taken. Oh well, little Mowgli will have to do with this New York City borough.

And his grandparents couldn’t be more excited. The Fall Out Boy bassist’s parents, Pete and Dale Wentz, said that they were overjoyed with the baby staying up late and “smiling at everyone who came into the room.” They added that Bronx Mowgli seems to have inherited his mommy and daddy’s “independence and charm.”

Just as thrilled about their grandchild are Ashlee Simpson-Wentz’s parents, Joe and Tina Simpson, who explained in a statement on Friday that they were very proud of the happy couple. “They are unbelievable parents already, and we can’t wait to spend Bronx’s first holidays together with the whole family. We are truly blessed,” the release read.

Bronx’s famous aunt, singer Jessica Simpson, informed reporters that she was “over the moon with joy,” as her nephew “is beyond precious,” adding that her 24-year-old sister and her 29-year-old brother-in-law are making the most out of every moment they spend with their first kid.

Ashlee Simpson-Wentz and her rocker hubby initially announced the pregnancy in May, barely a couple of weeks after their luxurious wedding at her parents’ residence in Los Angeles.
