The Gotta Have It! online Rock & Roll Pop Art Auction features items used by several celebrities, among whom Britney Spears who contributed seven valuable items for the charitable event. The most interesting is a pair of denim jeans worn by Marilyn Monroe in the movie “River of No Return,” which were given to Britney as a gift from designer Tommy Hilfiger.
Also, the auction, which runs July 21 – August 6, features a T-shirt worn by Britney Spears while she was a cast member on the New Mickey Mouse Club. The T-shirt, which had been given by the former pop singer to her grandmother, is also signed by her costars, including Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera, and Keri Russell.
Britney Spears also threw in some stage outfits, such as costumes from her "Drive Me Crazy" and "Oops, I Did it Again" tours, a blue and white sexy Santa dress she wore in a Christmas ad for Pepsi in 2000, and the orange coat and pants she wore to the 2000 Billboard Music Awards.
Britney Spears, who has gone through a remarkable makeover over the past months, a far cry from her disgraceful public appearances last year, has been recently granted overnight visitation privileges with her two young boys once more. Two weeks ago, both Spears and her former husband Kevin Federline attended a closed-door hearing Tuesday, as did Spears’s parenting coach.
As a result of the hearing Spears was allowed to have sons Sean Preston and Jayden James with her overnight. The little boys have been in the sole custody of their father ever since the January incident when she was taken by ambulance to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and hospitalized against her will, being classified as a threat to herself and others.
Former pop singer Britney Spears might be given the opportunity to do another awkward performance at this September's MTV Video Music Awards. AP interviewed Van Toffler, president of MTV Networks Music Group, who said that everyone deserves a second or third chance. The reporter, expectedly, asked if Toffler was joking. It turns out that he was only "sorta" joking.
Troubled pop singer Britney Spears is making more moves in her once-again ascending career, returning to the music scene by securing an appearance in the upcoming video for the Pussycat Dolls, it was revealed in early June. The "Gimme More" singer, who is said to be working on a new record with hopes of release before the end of 2008, has also reportedly been approached in connection with the role of Sandy in a Broadway revival of hit musical "Grease."
