The most recent collaboration between Madonna and Britney Spears has been postponed due to technical problems.
Britney Spears agreed to shoot some video footage with Madonna for the latter’s upcoming Sticky & Sweet tour. The two pop icons were supposed to begin filming the video footage this morning at the Lots soundstage in Hollywood. Unfortunately, the set was not finished in time and the cameras will not roll until tomorrow according to sources from the production staff.
The set isn’t quite simple. It features an elevator in and on which Britney Spears will dance.
"The video will be very deep. You've never seen Britney like this before. It will blow your mind," a source close to the starlet told E! News.
Although only virtually, it will be the first time when Britney Spears and the Material Girl will be together on stage since the memorable kiss of the two at the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards.
Liz Rosenberg, Madonna’s publicist, only confirmed the fact that Britney Spears will shoot the video footage during this week and said that the segment was not a music video. That was all the information Rosenberg had available, as she put it.
"The rest is a secret."
At first, rumors about the collaboration between Madonna and Britney made many think the two singers will provide a replay of the memorable lip-lock at the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards.
Madonna’s Sticky & Sweet tour kicks off in Wales in August. The U.S. leg of her tour starts Oct. 4 in East Rutherford, N.J.
