The latest person to have received a deposition subpoena from Kevin Federline’s legal team is Shannon Funk, former assistant to Britney Spears and reportedly romantic interest.
One by one, persons who are or used to be in Britney Spears’ entourage have been receiving subpoenas. The latest to find herself holding such legal papers is Shannon Funk, Brit’s former personal assistant.
The 21-year-old was served the papers Wednesday as she got off a plane in Long Beach, California. According to media reports, she was just returning from New York, where she had shared some private information about her former employer with OK! magazine.
There is some story apparently about a girl-on-girl romance between Brit Brit and Shannon. OK! magazine apparently has the inside scoop and even a photograph showing Britney in a pool, topless, with Shannon cuddling her warmly.
Shannon denied these rumors though, telling the magazine: “I love that girl. I will do what I can to protect her.”
Shannon Funk won’t be the only one questioned by Kevin Federline’s legal team about Britney’s parenting skills and life style. In the past several days, other current or former employees were served papers.
Sunday night it was Alli Sims, current personal assistant, longtime friend and cousin to Brit. She was reportedly leaving a house party and angered by the intrusion of Federline’s lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan.
The following day, the singer’s former bodyguard and driver Daimon Shippen received his subpoena in Santa Monica, California.
All those subpoenaed will testify in the upcoming custody battle between the former husband and wife. Kevin Federline seems to think his former spouse is not a fit mother and that their two sons, Sean Preston, who is almost 2, and Jayden James, who is almost 1, would be better off with him.
It remains to be seen whether Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner Scott Gordon decides to allow public access to paperwork pertaining to Brit and Federline’s custody case. The two have asked for the details of their custody case to be kept permanently sealed, for their children’s protection.
A hearing has been set for Sept. 14. That same day, Sean Preston turns 2. Two days before that, it will be Jayden James’s first birthday.
