Britney’s Family Keeps Close After Her Hospital Release

After all the drama caused by Britney Spears’ early release from the hospital, the troubled singer’s mother and father were spotted with her at her Beverly Hills home.

Following Britney’s premature discharge from UCLA Medical Center on Wednesday, her parents released a statement expressing their disappointment towards the hospital’s decision as well their worries concerning their daughter’s life.

"As parents of an adult child in the throws of a mental health crisis, we were extremely disappointed this morning to learn that over the recommendation of her treating psychiatrist, our daughter Britney was released from the hospital that could best care for her and keep her safe," Jamie and Lynne Spears said late Wednesday evening.

The 26-year-old pop star, who was involuntarily committed to treatment for bipolar disorder a week ago and placed, was quietly let go "because she was no longer required to stay there after 11:30 AM" and that she was no longer deemed a threat to herself or others, although she was expected to remain hospitalized for another 10 days.

She slipped out of the UCLA Medical Center accompanied by private security guards, but without a police escort. A hospital spokesman declined comment, citing patient confidentiality laws.

"We are deeply concerned about our daughter's safety and vulnerability and we believe her life is presently at risk. There are conservatorship orders in place created to protect our daughter that are being blatantly disregarded. We ask only that the court's orders be enforced so that a tragedy may be averted."

Since her hospitalization on January 31, the singer’s father was named her conservator, and together with attorney Andrew Wallet, they were made co-conservators of the singer’s estate. The arrangement came after a judge ruled that Britney can no longer care for herself or her personal affairs. As her conservator, Britney’s father has been granted access to all of her medical records and authority to determine where she lives and who she sees.

Following her low-key departure from hospital, Britney was reunited with her paparazzo boyfriend, Adnan Ghalib, as the two were spotted together while leaving the office of her new attorney, Adam Streisand, whom she hired to contest conservatorship the court instated over her.

The two then headed towards the Beverly Hills Hotel, where Britney’s father arrived a short time later. According to OK! magazine, he presented the hotel officials with what appeared to be legal documents and asked them to help him get his daughter back home.

According to an insider, Jamie now plans to move in with his daughter, and try to monitor her along with another person that will act as a guardian/sobriety coach.

"[They will] try to keep her calm," the insider told Access Hollywood.

The move comes one day after court papers were made public containing accusations by the Britney’s mother, that her self-styled manager, Sam Lutfi, had drugged her in a bid to take control of her life. A judge issued a restraining order against him, and also put the bitter custody fight Britney and her ex-hubby are embroiled in, on hold.

In her declaration, Lynne alleged that Lutfi "essentially moved into Britney's home and has purported to take control of her life, home and finances. He yells at her. He claims to control everything, Britney's business manager, her attorneys and the security guards at the gate."

Lutfi responded the accusations denying every inch of the Britney’s mom’s declaration.

"I'm not worried about what Lynne is saying," the 33-year-old exclusively told E! News. "It's not true."

"They're family and their concerns are understandable, but these allegations are not true," he added.

However, Lutfi did admit to Us Weekly that he medicated Britney, purportedly for her own good, and gave insight into the manic mood swings of the singer.

He said he gave Britney "a handful of pills" on the evening of Jan. 30, just hours before her parents arrived and before Britney's subsequent hospitalization.

"I said these pills are working wonders—they are miracle pills," he said without ever saying what pills, exactly, he was feeding the singer.

"In the depressive episodes, it's all crying," he said. "But in the manic episode, there's very little crying or sympathy or compassion. She becomes another person. She becomes somebody that just doesn't care about anybody or anything."
