Britney’s ‘Blackout’ Drops This Month

All Britney’s fans will be able celebrate Halloween listening to her new album which hits the stores on October 30, two weeks earlier than initially scheduled.

The entire early buzz surrounding Britney Spears’ upcoming album "Blackout" determined her label to take action. Jive Records recently announced they decided to move up the release date of the album to October 30.

Blaming the fact that several tracks, demos and "unfinished material" have been leaked online as "legitimate songs," and citing fans’ high demand for the new album, Britney’s record company is attempting to prevent further illegal downloading.

"Due to these numerous unauthorized online leaks," a Jive statement said, "the label is doing everything possible to prevent and avoid any further illegal distribution of songs, including moving up the release date of the album to October 30."

"The demand for Britney’s new album has taken everyone by surprise. People are desperate to get their hands on it,” a source was quoted by The Sun as saying.

"Executives at the label decided to give people what they want, so they opted to get it on the shelves as soon as they possibly could," the source added.

No track list has yet been revealed, but according to Billboard, "Blackout" will include the songs "Heaven on Earth," "Radar," "Piece of Me" and "Break the Ice."

Originally scheduled to be released on November 13, the same day as Celine Dion’s new album, “Blackout” is the pop princess’ first studio album in four years. Her previous album "In the Zone," released in November 2003, debuted at number one in the United States selling over 609,000 copies in its first week.

In spite of all the trouble Britney is having in her personal life, the 25-year-old’s first single "Gimme More," which she also performed at the MTV Video Music Awards in September, is enjoying great success on iTunes, where the song’s video was also released. Being leaked on YouTube, the video was removed days after, following a copyright claim was made by the record company, Sony BMG.

Last week, the song "rocketed" 68-3 on the Billboard Hot 100, selling an impressive 179,000 downloads. Britney hasn’t achieved a top 10 since March 2004, with her "Toxic" single, Billboard reported.

Hopefully, this will be a turning point for Britney’s constantly declining career and maybe a boost in her personal life. The singer lost the custody of her two young children to her ex-husband, Kevin Federline. According to recent reports, Britney filed an emergency court motion seeking to obtain more time with the kids, and a hearing was scheduled for Thursday.
