It seems
that when it comes to former teen-icon Britney Spears, one time is never
enough. Two marriages, two children, two trips to rehab centers and now, two
comebacks. After blowing her performance at the MTV Video Music Awards last year
by lip-synching, this Sunday she’ll be coming back for more.
Britney is
scheduled to kick off the event that will take place at Paramount
Studios in Hollywood, but nobody
knows how she’s planning on leaving the audience dumb with astonishment this time
around.
Since locking lips with Madonna and appearing on stage with
a snake are obviously a "been there, done that" matter for her, Brit’s act is currently anybody’s guess.
Moreover, in this 25th edition of the VMAs, the singer’s hit
„Piece of Me” is nominated for Best Female Video, Best Pop Video and Video of
the Year. In the run for Best Female Video, she is competing with Mariah Carey’s
„Touch My Body,” Katy Perry’s „I kissed a Girl,” Rihanna’s „Take a Bow” and
Jordin Sparks’ „No Air.” The other nominees for Best Pop Video are Danity Kane
with „Damaged,” Jonas Brothers with „Burnin Up,” Panic At The Disco with „ Nine
in the Afternoon” and Tokio Hotel with „Ready, Set, Go!.”
As for Video of the Year, Britney’s competition consists of Chris
Brown („Forever”), Jonas Brothers („Burnin Up”), Pussycat Dolls („When I Grow
Up”) and The Ting Tings („Shut Up and Let Me Go”).
So let the curtain rise.
