Even though he’s not Britney Spears’ boy toy anymore, photographer Adnan Ghalib still manages to get some media attention. The paparazzo was has been charged with three felonies of assault with a deadly weapon, namely, his Mercedes vehicle.
On Tuesday, the LA District Attorney charged Ghalib with assault with a deadly weapon, battery, and hit and run stemming from an incident on February 11.
A few weeks ago, Spears' former lover tried to run over a court-appointed process server with his car and as a result, he was has just been charged with three felonies. The charges include special allegations: use of a deadly weapon – a car – and great bodily injury.
The man was attempting to serve Ghalib with a restraining order, for which he's purposefully been avoiding service.
Trying to avoid being served with papers related to the Britney Spears restraining order case, Ghalib reportedly hit the server then allegedly drove his vehicle at the victim, who jumped on the hood of his Mercedes to avoid being pinned against a trash truck. He suffered a broken wrist, and other injuries. Ghalib drove away without stopping.
The District Attorney is asking for $110,000 bail. If convicted, Ghalib could face up to seven years in prison.
On Monday, Britney’s father Jamie Spears, who is her conservator, testified in court seeking to have the restraining order against Adnan Ghalib and Britney’s former manager, Sam Lutfi, extended.
Ghalib and Britney Spears dated in late 2007, early 2008 before Britney’s dad stepped in becoming the conservator of her estate.
