Love her or hate her, but you have to admit that Britney’s
much anticipated comeback at the Video Music Awards 2008 was a success.
The singer, who is recovering from her past traumatic
experiences, was definitely the queen of the evening, winning three prizes:
Best Female Music Video, Best Pop Video and Video of the Year.
Britney was a little nervous as she walked on the stage to
pick her prizes and thank God, her family, her beautiful boys and her fans.
Before taking to the stage, she was encouraged by several other celebrities,
who showed their support for the former pop princess.
Ne-Yo, for example, told Pop Tarts he had always been a fan
of the former pop princess, since the beginning of her career.
“I've seen pictures and she looks amazing right now. She’s
in shape now, she's got the six-pack going. I'm so pleased we won't have to
worry about that belly jiggling around this year,” the singer expressed his
enthusiasm concerning Britney’s brand new look.
Lots of stars joined Ne-Yo, from DJ AM and Brooke Hogan, to
Pussycat Dolls and Katy Perry, in saying nice things about Britney’s hot body.
Everybody was also stunned by Britney’s glamorous tight and
silver Versace dress.
The pop singer was amazed when she went to pick up her first
prize for Best Female Video, for “Piece of Me.”
“I'm speechless,” she gasped. “Oh, my goodness, thank you! I
first want to thank God for blessing me like this and my family... my two
beautiful boys for inspiring me every day.”
When hearing she also won the Best Pop Video for the same
track, Britney hugged her manager Larry Rudolph before going to pick her
Moonman.
Later in the evening, when she received her third prize, for
Video of the Year, she said: “I'm in shock right now! I want to dedicate this
to all my fans.”
Let’s hope that the 26-year-old singer will keep her pretty
VMAs smile on her face as long as possible, as she is struggling to regain
glory. The first step has been made.
