Poppa Spears reportedly gave up his catering job in order to spend more time taking care his troubled daughter's affairs.

Although Britney Spears' situation improved dramatically since her father Jamie Spears was appointed her co-conservator, according to the request for "replacement compensation," the responsibilities "he has assumed as conservator ... have required [his] full-time attention."  

"As a result, he has been unable to continue to his prior employment and he has lost his source of income which he needs to pay his living expenses," the court papers said.

Initially, the judge presiding over Britney's conservatorship case ordered Jamie's allowance to start rolling in after March 3, but he successfully lobbied for $2,500 per week dating back to Feb. 1, when he was first appointed Britney's coconservator after her brief hospitalization.

Since taking control of the "Toxic" singer's affairs in February, the elder Spears has helped win the 26-year-old more visitation rights to her sons Sean Preston, two, and one-year-old Jayden James. A hearing to review his position is scheduled for July 31 while another one is set for May 29, to settle the money issues.
