Britney Spears Could Be Held 14 More Days in UCLA

There are reports that Britney Spears may spend 14 additional day in the psychiatric center of UCLA, where she was hospitalized on January 31.

According to AOL’s TMZ site, Britney Spears was diagnosed as a severe bipolar patient.

This is the second time in a month that authorities forced Britney to be involuntarily hospitalized; she spent two days at a medical facility in early January after she refused to hand over her two children to ex-husband Kevin Federline and barricaded herself in her bathroom with her youngest son, Jayden James. As a result to her meltdown, she has lost custody of her children and seemingly accelerated her downward spiral.

According to the media reports, her parents James and Lynne Spears paid her a visit Saturday afternoon.

On Friday James Spears and his lawyer, Andrew Wallet, were named conservators of the Britney Spears estate after a court hearing held in the Los Angeles courthouse.

According to a public statement from Commissioner Reva Goetz, James Spears will be the conservator of her daughter until Monday, when a new hearing is scheduled.

"It is in the best interests of the conservatee to have conservatorship over her person," Goetz told a packed courtroom.

The court decision also barred Spears friend and manager, Sam Lutfi, from seeing the singer.

Meanwhile, US Weekly and TMZ reported that, after his appointment as conservator, James Spears discovered that some valuable possessions are missing from the Beverly Hills house of Britney Spears. The singer’s parents called the Los Angeles Police Department and filed a report, US Weekly said.

It appears that the items have disappeared sometimes after Britney Spears was taken to the UCLA medical center.

However, Sam Lufti was not named as a suspect, although it is believed he had aceess to tha house.

Also there are rumors that Britney’s parents intends to take her back in Louisiana after she will be released from the hospital.

During 2007, Brtiney Spears repeatedly failed to show up for court appearances, attacked her ex-husband's car and a posse of paparazzi with an umbrella, and was unable to comply with court-ordered drug testing. Efforts to revive her career backfired when she appeared overweight and disoriented at a much-hyped appearance at the MTV Video Music Awards.
