Britney Spears caused a quite a media frenzy the past couple of days after she was photographed while buying a pregnancy test.
Pregnancy rumors have been swirling around the troubled pop star for quite a while, but they were taken to a whole new level when Britney was spotted in a shop while picking up a pregnancy test.
According to X17Online, the singer initially denied having purchased the test, but when pressured by the paparazzi, Britney revealed that she had bought it "for a friend."
A series of photos emerged online earlier this week showing Britney and her boyfriend, paparazzo Adnan Ghalib, at a Studio City, Calif., Rite Aid store, while scanning the shelves of pregnancy tests.
A member of Britney’s camp, Sam Lutfi denied that the test was for Britney, and that she was only playing with the paparazzi who are constantly chasing her everywhere she goes.
The couple was "toying with the paparazzi" by posing for the pics, Lutfi told Access Hollywood.
"It’s all bull. They’re just toying with the paparazzi," he said.
However, a relative of Britney’s ex hubby, Kevin Federline, told OK! Magazine that the 26-year-old singer is indeed looking for a replacement for her sons Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1, whom she isn’t allowed to see anymore after a judge suspended her visitation rights until the next scheduled hearing on February 19.
Speaking to People magazine, Federline’s lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan, called the court order barring Britney from visiting her children indefinitely "painful, but appropriate."
"Kevin's not indifferent to how difficult it has to be on their mother (Spears) and on the kids," Kaplan told People. "It's a sad situation. There's no victorious feeling."
Monday’s court hearing focused on Britney’s latest meltdown on January 3 when police and paramedics were called at her Los Angeles home and she was rushed to the hospital for a psychological evaluation. The monitored visitation rights Britney had before, were suspended also given the fact that the singer barely made it in court, but didn’t attend the hearing.
"Kevin wants nothing more than to be able to parent his children with participation by their mother," Kaplan said. "But the best interest of the children require that they be in the most sound, safe, nurturing and consistent environment. That is paramount."
"[Kevin] is committed to trying to fill any void by him being there at all times for them in any way. He can't replace their mother in their life but he is going to try to minimize the hardship," he added.
