Pop star Britney Spears and her ex-husband Kevin Federline
have finally reached a child custody settlement.
The singer will raise her child support payments to
Federline from $15,000 to $20,000 a month, according to the deal agreed by Los
Angeles Superior Court Commissioner Scott Gordon on Friday.
Furthermore,
Britney Spears is due to cover her former husband’s $250,000 legal bill from Federline’s
attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan.
Although in the deal reached last week Kevin Federline, 30,
retained sole custody of the couple’s two children, Spears, 26, also won a
ruling permitting her to spend more time with her sons.
For now, the singer is legally
allowed to receive two visits a week from Sean Preston, 2 years and a half, and
Jayden James, 1 year and a half, and one overnight per week, but by the end of
the year she will get at least an additional sleepover, according to
People.com.
Britney Spears lost custody of her children last year in
October, after she failed to show up at a random drug testing as she had been
requested at a previous hearing. Moreover, she lost visiting rights in January,
when her ex-husband received full custody of the children.
Her visitation
rights were rigurously restricted this year as a result of the singer’s
increasing personal problems and supposed mental health issues.
However, the pop star seems to be getting better and solving
the serious problems in her life, after she was twice transported to hospital
in January for treatment in a psychiatric unit.
The couple got married four years ago and completed their
divorce last year in July.
