Britney Spears and a parental coach have appeared in front of a Los Angeles court in an attempt of the pop singer to get more visitation rights for her two sons from her marriage with Kevin Federline.
Britney appeared in front of the court on Tuesday, and has apparently made a good impression. According to The Associated Press, Allan Parachini, the court spokesperson, has said that Britney conduct was “very businesslike.”
Both her and her ex husband’s answers to the commission’s questions have not been considered to be testimony.
Even though the court didn’t make public its verdict, Britney Spears seemed to be happy after the hearings ended, which might mean that the court ruled for more visitation rights for her. One rumor that appeared on the E! News site states that the commission might have granted Britney the right of overnight visits.
It was Britney’s erratic behavior that made it impossible for her to visit her two sons, which have remained entirely in their father’s care. The pop diva has made public her wish of taking her children to meet their cousin, Maddie, the daughter of Britney’s sister, Jamie Lyn. However, receiving the right to fly her children all the way to Louisiana, where her sister lives, is still a long way ahead for the singer.
The fact that the commission has approved the hearing is in part due to Britney’s changing her behavior in the last period of time, as the diva appeared to be more and more stable.
Britney was supposed to hand sons Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1, to ex-hubby Kevin Federline on January 3, as previously agreed through their lawyers – and then she wouldn’t. The whole situation degenerated into chaos, with the 26-year-old mother being taken to the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles and placed on psychiatric hold.
Britney was stripped of her visitation rights following the January 3 mayhem and was not allowed to see her sons until late February, when lawyers for her and Federline worked out a visitation schedule.
She currently has monitored visitation rights with sons Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1, several times a week.
The troubled singer has been under the conservatorship of her father since her second release from UCLA Medical Center in February. Having her family take care of her seems to have been benefic for Britney, as her public appearances have been noticeably calm and discrete. She has been seldom photographed and usually in the presence of her mother or father.
