Britney Spears finally showed up to her deposition in the ongoing custody trial with her ex-hubby, Kevin Federline.
Today’s deposition was actually a rescheduled deposition from earlier this month, when the troubled singer showed up way late at the office of Mark Vincent Kaplan, who represents K-Fed in the custody battle for the couple’s two kids, 2-year-old Sean Preston and one-year-old Jayden James, and only gave her testimony for about 15 minutes.
"The deposition proceeding did go forward today. It was scheduled for 9:45 to 11:45," Kaplan said at that time. "However, it wasn't able to commence until 11:32.
"You can imagine in 14 minutes there's not a lot of time to develop questions," he added.
Shortly after 10:30 a.m. today, the pop singer, sporting a dark blue top and jeans, arrived at the Century City, Calif., office of Kaplan, and sneaked inside as she handed over the keys to her car to a parking valet.
While blaming paparazzi for giving her anxiety attacks the previous times she failed to show up to testify, Britney had no such trouble this time when she drove herself to the deposition, with her pal Sam Lutfi in the passenger seat. She was also accompanied by her attorney, Tara Scott, as she entered the building.
Hopefully, this is the first step in regaining the visitation rights to her children after having them suspended indefinitely last week, following her meltdown on January 3 when Britney was hospitalized briefly for a series of psychological tests.
In the meantime, the 26-year-old singer has also reportedly split from her paparazzo boyfriend Adnan Ghalib, whom she romanced over the past weeks. Moreover, she is said to have filed a restraining order against him.
According to X17online Lutfi showed a copy of the order to a bunch of photographers, whom Britney recently invited at her place for some "fun." Apparently, the 35-year-old Pakistan-born Ghalib "was making money" off Britney, tipping off his colleagues as to where the couple would be so that they could get exclusive pictures.
According to one of the photographers, Lutfi said that they'd filed a request for a restraining order against Ghalib because they want him "out of Britney's life."
Ghalib on the other hand said in a post on his agency’s website that he was unaware of the situation.
"All I can say is that I have not been in contact with Britney since early Friday morning," Ghalib wrote on the website of his employer, FinalPixx. "The reason being, that I have has to attend a family funeral in Santa Barbara. My phone has been off during this time out of respect for my family. I am only now becoming aware of what is being said. I hope to be back home in Los Angeles soon and to be in contact with Miss Spears."
