Following another "emergency" hearing in the Britney Spears – Kevin Federline custody case, the troubled mother-of-two was prohibited by a judge to personally drive her two sons during her court-monitored visits.
While no official confirmation was made by any of the parties involved in today’s hearing, TMZ reports that Court Commissioner Scott M. Gordon did actually approve K-Fed’s motion which prohibits Britney from personally driving sons Sean Preston and Jayden James during her court-monitored visits.
"Orders were made," Mark Vincent Kaplan, Federline’s lawyer, said upon leaving the courtroom. "I can't discuss the content of those orders. Documents have not been released by the court, and I don't know if they will be. The matter will be continued at a future date."
The case is due back in court Nov. 26.
Britney’s attorney on the other hand, kept it short and simple saying “"Everything is fine."
The closed-door hearing was requested by Federline following Britney’s latest driving mishaps, which include running a red light while her kids were asleep on the backseat of her car, running over yet another’s paparazzo’s foot and speeding and texting with her sons in the car.
According to People, Federline's attorney also requested Shane Partridge, the photographer who filmed subpeoned video of Britney’s allegedly running a red light on November 8 was also present, but he did not participate in the hearing.
"The tape of Britney running the red light was not viewed today, but it was a major point of the hearing," a source told the mag. "Britney's lawyers brought in an expert who argued that, for whatever reason, Britney could have made the turn through the red light."
In a quick interview prior to the hearing, Federline’s attorney told Access Hollywood the red light incident was a "dangerous situation" and would be addressed in court Friday.
Last week, Federline requested another "emergency" hearing seeking to restrict the singer's driving privileges based on the fact that she failed 8 out of 14 alcohol and drug tests she was ordered to submit to early last month. However, a decision wasn't reached last time, except that Britney was ordered to provide a single phone number to which she can be reached by the medical staff responsible for testing her.
As the estranged couple’s custody battle continues, the kids are still in their father’s custody, after Britney lost them due to disobeying court orders. She was given monitored visitation rights which were briefly suspended when a judge ruled that she engaged in "habitual, frequent and continuous use of controlled substances and alcohol."
Eventually, Britney obtained three monitored visitations a week and was ordered to submit to random alcohol and drug testing, as well as taking parenting classes, which she didn’t take too seriously, according to a court-appointed monitor who testified in a previous hearing.
