Bristol Palin's Baby Daddy, Levi Johnston, Not So Much Into Kids

Now that the news about Republic Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin's pregnant teenage daughter, Bristol, broke out, the media turned their heads towards the father, who was revealed to be 18 year-old Levi Johnston.

After Sarah Palin confirmed in a statement released yesterday that her 17-year-old daughter is five months pregnant and due to marry the father, 18 year-old Levi Johnston, media outlets quickly found Johnston’s MySpace page, which is now offline, pointing out some of the moderately obnoxious statements he made on it.

Described by the Daily News as a "superhunky bad-boy ice hockey player," the teenager wrote in his description that he's a "redneck," who likes camping, fishing and "hang out with the boys."

"I live to play hockey ..." he said, also admitting that he doesn't want any kids. However, since he has not accessed the page in over a year, a lot might have changed in the meantime. Teenagers can change a lot in a year. Johnston is about to become a dad and a husband, so he’ll need to do some maturing fast if he wants to make his marriage and family work.

The NY Daily News points out that just about everyone in Bristol Palin’s small community in Wasilla, Alaska has known for at least a few weeks that the girl, who has been dating Levi for over a year, is pregnant.

"They've been together quite a while, more than a year," Wasilla mom Jennie Johnston, whose son Jade played hockey with Levi, was quoted by the newspaper as saying. "I hope everything comes out well. These are local kids."

Sarah Palin said she and her husband, Todd, are "proud of Bristol's decision to have her baby and even prouder to become grandparents. As Bristol faces the responsibilities of adulthood, she knows she has our unconditional love and support," the statement said, pleading for privacy.

But it's not just the locals who expressed concern over Bristol's pregnancy, the topic was debated by celebrities such as actress Lindsay Lohan, who took it on her MySpace blog to call the pregnancy a "distraction" and to insist that Sarah Palin should focus more on her political views.

"I get Sarah Palin's views against abortion, but I would much prefer to hear more about what she can do for our country, rather than how her daughter is going to have a child no matter what. Maybe focus on delivering some words and policy with stronger impact like [Barack Obama's vice presidential pick] Joe Biden," Lohan wrote.

The subject was also discussed on ABC's "The View" on Tuesday, as the co-hosts shared their thoughts on the matter. Elisabeth Hasselbeck blasted "left-wing liberals" for "looking down on the fact that she's going to have a child" when "she's giving [a baby] a chance at life," while Whoppi Goldberg said she hoped the girl had a choice in whether or not she wanted to have the child.
