Christie Brinkley and Peter Cook’s divorce case ended on Thursday after the two reached a settlement trying to protect the two children the couple has from the bad effects of such a procedure. The settlement has been announced at 6:15 in the morning, after a whole night of negotiations.

Everything seems to work for former supermodel Christie Brinkley, as she declared that the settlement made her gain everything she wanted. And while the custody of her two children, Jake, aged 13 and Sailor, 10, was the thing she mentioned to be the most important, it’s really hard to think that the 18 properties in the Hamptons that the former supermodel got to keep are hardly of any satisfaction for her.

These properties have been a reason of dispute for the former couple since it seems that is was Peter Cook the one who advised Brinkley to buy them 10 years ago.

The supermodel’s ex husband was awarded parenting time with the two children. Mr. Cook will also receive $2.1 million and half of the price for which the former couple’s boat, ‘Sweet Freedom,’ will sell.

According to the People magazine, Christie Brinkley declared that she thinks that “a mother's greatest fear is somebody trying to take her children, trying to take custody of her children. That's what I was up against. And so I've won custody and decision-making, and that's really all I ever wanted."

The couple parted ways after Brinkley found out about her husband’s affaire with his 18 years old assistant, who Peter Cook supposedly paid $300,000 to keep the whole thing away from the press.
