Actress Bridget Moynahan and New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady have become parents to a baby boy born yesterday in Los Angeles.
Bridget Moynahan, 37, and Tom Brady, 30, may have ended their relationship in late 2006, but dad-to-be Tom would not miss the arrival of his child in the world. The QB flew to the West Coast, where his former girlfriend was in hospital.
Bridget’s publicist Christina Papadopoulos said, “Mother and baby are doing well.” She did not reveal any other details about the baby and mom.
Earlier this week, Tom told reporters he wished to be present when his son was born, but that he needed to figure out the schedule with his coach Bill Belichick.
His absence on the field Wednesday, when his team had practice, raised speculation that he had flown from Massachusetts to Los Angeles for the baby's arrival. “Entertainment Tonight” reported that he had been spotted with flowers in hand at a Santa Monica hospital.
Bridget and Tom were together for some three years before breaking up. Bridget confirmed her pregnancy in February this year. This is the first baby for both actress and quarterback.
Tom started dating supermodel Giselle Bundchen around December 2006. The two are still together and Giselle is reportedly excited about her boyfriend’s baby.
Bridget Moynahan is best known for her roles in “I, Robot,” alongside Will Smith, and “The Recruit,” with Al Pacino and Colin Farrel. She played Mr. Big’s wife in the HBO series “Sex and the City” and starred until recently on the ABC series “Six Degrees.”
She next stars in a comedy titled “Noise,” starring Tim Robbins and William Hurt.
Tom Brady, a three-time Super Bowl champion, expressed happiness at becoming a father when Bridget made her pregnancy public.
“Tom and his family are excited about the pregnancy and want to thank everyone who has shown support, and particularly for their consideration of Tom's privacy," Brady's agent, Don Yee, said in a statement at the time.
