20 South Korean tourists were injured in North Korea's Mount Geumgang resort, on Monday, when a pedestrian suspended bridge fell down.
Six of them were reported to be in a serious condition, not being able to walk , thus they were transported to South Korea, while the others, which had superficial injuries were treated at the scene, in North Korea.
None of them had life-threatening conditions, Hyundai Asan official Roh Jee Hwan said.
The cause of the collapse is thought to be a faulty suspension cable, added to the weight of the people crossing the bridge.
The official declared that an safety inspection was made in August, showing no problems with the bridge.
The Mount Geumgang resort on North Korea's east coast is one of several projects run by South Korea and North Korea to enhance and help the relations between the two countries.
South Korea and North Korea are technically at war since the 1950-1953 conflict ended with cease-fire, not a peace treaty.
