„Bride Wars” Opens Weeding Competiton

Liv, interpreted by Kate Hudson, and Emma, played by Anne Hathaway, are best friends since childhood and have both had the same obsession, to have a perfect weeding and to plan every detail or it. Since they were little girls who could only dream about their perfect wedding, they decided to make a “must have” list for their respective ceremonies.

Yet, Liv and Emma’s plans go a little out of control when they both wish to have their ceremonies at the Plaza Hotel from New York. Planning to marry their respective husbands, everything seems to be going perfectly. The dates are set, their dresses are beautiful and the guests are ready and enthusiastic. But the weddings turn out to take place on the same day, June 6.

They’re both 26 now and are two grown-up women who turn out to always fight for what they want. Liv is a lawyer and is accustomed to getting everything she desires, from a perfect husband and a perfect job to a perfect wedding.

Emma is a schoolteacher, who got accustomed to help the others and leave her behind. But now she also wants her wedding to be perfect and she is ready to do anything as to have it this way. So the two start the “Bride Wars,” in spite of their tradition to do anything for each other, as to have everything they had desired since they met.

“Bride Wars” was mainly filmed in Boston, Massachusetts, New York City and Salem and was released on Friday. Directed by Gary Winick, written by Greg DePaul and June Raphael together with Casey Wilson from “Saturday Night Live,” the movie stars Kate Hudson, Anne Hathaway, Annabel Grealish, Candice Bergen and Chris Pratt.

The script for the movie was completed by Raphael and Wilson, from the original script by Greg DePaul, before the Writers Guild of America strike began. Karen McCullah Lutz and Kirsten Smith also contributed to the screenplay.
