Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's unborn babies have definitely had their share of attention, and now the soon-to-born twins of the celebrity couple have also been made honorary citizens of Nice, France for the rest of their lives, Nice mayor announced recently. They will also have the opportunity to apply for French citizenship when they turn 18.

While most tourists of the low-key Riviera city, which Angelina Jolie picked for giving birth, seem indifferent to the media buzz caused by one of Hollywood's most hunted-by-paparazzi couple, mayor Christian Estrosi is more than delighted to have the Jolie-Pitts in his city.

"That is for the citizens of Nice a very great honor and a great satisfaction," mayor Estrosi was quoted by the Associated Press as saying.

Angelina Jolie, 32, has been hospitalized since Sunday in the seaside Lenval hospital, which has a magnificent view of the Mediterranean below. Her partner, actor Brad Pitt, has been spotted visiting her regularly, often with some of the couple's four children. The actress revealed her intentions to give birth in France while at the Cannes Film Festival, saying she made the choice to honor her French-Canadian mother Marcheline Bertrand who died last year.

"We are very happy for this choice of Mrs. Angelina Jolie and Mr. Brad Pitt and I want to say to them that I wish a lot of joy to them and the babies, and great success for all of their lives," the mayor added.

Generally, being born in France is not enough to confer citizenship, but according to the French Foreign Ministry website, the twins will have the option of obtaining French citizenship when they turn 18 as long as France has been their primary residence for at least 5 years after age 11.

"All their lives they will be Nicois and all their life they will be able to come to Nice and we will receive them with great honor," Estrosi said.

In the meantime, Brad Pitt, who is very eager to become a father again, reportedly sought advice from his "The Mexican" co-star Julia Roberts, who is a mother of twins.

"Brad was all frantic about knowing if the rules for twins are different than raising or taking care of single babies. But Julia told him it's the same - only twice as hard," a source told The Globe.

Angelina Jolie's doctor revealed during a press conference earlier this week that the actress is doing well and her hospitalization at this stage is "normal" for someone who delivered her first baby via cesarean section.

"She will stay in the hospital until the birth. Let’s say the birth will happen in the weeks to come," the doctor added.
