Although unborn yet, the twins of gorgeous Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt already benefit from their parents’ fame and recognition. The soon-to-be-born offspring of the well-known couple have been made honorary citizens of Nice, France, for the rest of their lives, the city’s mayor declared recently.
The dazzling Hollywood couple has chosen the rather discreet Riviera city for the birth of their children, expected within weeks. Angelina Jolie, 32, has been hospitalized since Sunday at the seaside Lenval hospital, which has a splendid view of the Mediterranean below. Both her partner, Brad Pitt, and her brother, James Haven, have been paying her regular visits, often accompanied by some of their four kids.
In spite of the fact that most tourists seem unresponsive to the media thrill set off by one of Hollywood’s most wanted couples, Mayor Christian Estrosi is more than enchanted to have the pair in his city.
The actress expressed her will to give birth in France while at the Cannes Film Festival, saying she made the decision in order to pay homage to the memory of her French-Canadian mother, Marcheline Bertrand, who died last year.
Although being born in France is not sufficient to confer citizenship, according to the French Foreign Ministry website, the twins will have the opportunity to obtain French citizenship when they turn 18 provided that France has been their main residence for at least 5 years after the age of 11. Furthermore, they will be permitted to keep both French and American nationalities, with the intention that they will never have to make such a choice.
Angelina Jolie's doctor informed during a press conference earlier this week that the actress is in good condition and that her hospitalization at this phase is “normal” for someone who gave birth to her first baby by cesarean section.
