After playing to part of beautiful and courageous Achilles
in 2004 hit movie “Troy”,
Brad Pitt is ready to join the team behind the big-screen adaptation of Homer’s poem “The
Odyssey”
According to Variety.com, which was first to broke the news,
“The Odyssey”, a movie produced by Warner Bros, will have a SciFi flavor.
The movie studio intends to transfer the tale to a
futuristic setting in outer space and for the moment is still unclear if Brad
Pitt will portray the central hero, Odysseus.
The action of the Greek epic poem revolved around the
adventures of Odysseus in in his long trip from Troy
to Ithaca.
But until “The Odyssey”, Brad Pitt curently playing in Tarantino’s
"Inglorious Bastards". The story of “Inglorious Bastards"
revolves around a group of soldiers behind enemy lines similar to that
previously seen in “The Dirty Dozen.”
Tarantino, an Academy Award- and Palme d'Or-winning film
director, has reportedly purchased the title and remake rights to Enzo
Castellari's 1978 film of the same name. However, Tarantino’s screenplay is
said to be an original.
This winter Brad Pitt could be seen in another movie, “The
Curious Case of Benjamin Button”. The movie, which is based on the 1920s story by F. Scott Fitzgerald is about a man who is born in his eighties and ages backwards.
