Fresh father Brad Pitt has joined the cast of Quentin
Tarantino’s “Inglorious Bastards”, reports say. The Academy Award-nominated
actor will play Lt. Aldo Raine, leader of the Jewish resistance in the
director’s upcoming movie, set in the period of World War II.
Furthermore, British actor Simon Pegg, famous for his role
in “Hot Fuzz”, may also join the Tarantino-film’s cast and impersonate a
British lieutenant, while David Krumholtz received an offer to play in the
movie as well, but may have a scheduling problem, as Reuters reported. His part
would be that of a member of Brad Pitt’s team. Moreover, Golden Globe
Award-winning actress Nastassja Kinski is due to meet Quentin Tarantino in
order to discuss the part of a German actress.
Producer Lawrence Bender said the association between the
renowned director and star Brad Pitt would generate unbelievable results,
although the two have never worked together before.
Pitt will play the persona of a Southern rebel who controls
a band of eight Jewish American soldiers as they seek for revenge on Nazis in
German-occupied France.
The Weinstein Co./Universal production is due to start
shooting on October 13 in Germany
and Lawrence Bender said that everybody hoped for the movie to be finished early
enough for a debut at the Cannes Film Festival in May. “It's going to be a
nine-month sprint marathon,” he said, as quoted by Reuters.
Brad Pitt is also due to start filming for the boxing drama
“The Fighter” for Paramount pictures and the
shootings should start late this year or early next year, the same source
reported.
